Sandro Sciacca
Sandro Sciacca was born in Milan in 1951 and began studying photography at the age of 14.
After leaving school four years later he signed up as photographer on board
the cruise ship Angelina Lauro and spent the next two years travelling round the world,
discovering locations and lighting scenarios which broadened his horizons.
Since 1975 he has worked for numerous publications including: AD, Max, Grazia,
Vogue Bellezza, Brava, Gioia, Amica, Jewels & Watches.
His images have been used for important press advertising campaigns including:
Grigio Perla, Gatorade, Black&White.
At a personal level, to satisfy the need to explore his chosen medium to the full,
in May 1988 he presented a personal show at the Merano Kurhaus entitled "Fuori dal Nero" [Out of Black].
In 1997 a series of nudes in which the body takes on the imposing majesty
of a landscape received the AFIP [Italian Association of Professional Photographers]
award for nude photography.
Keeping a close eye on the latest visual perspectives, Sandro Sciacca continues
to approach his professional and personal photography with the same enthusiasm
as always, working with top advertising agencies for leading brands including:
Platinum Guild, De Beers, Damiani, Salvini, Valextra, Natuzzi.
